Situated in Pasadena at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Post 509 provides students with an opportunity to personally be a part of scientific exploration. A conference room and a lab provided by NASA/Caltech Jet Propulsion Laboratory make Post 509 one of very few organizations that can provide a hands-on experience in science, engineering and technology.
Post 509 events include Spaceset - the annual Space Settlement Design Competition, field trips, and lectures from JPL, Caltech and other world-renowned institutions. Post 509's established High Altitude Experimentation Project (HAEP) offers a unique and hands-on experience with science and space exploration. Young men and women, ages 14 to 20, who are high school and college students are eligible to become members of Post 509. Adults who are interested in science, engineering, or technology and want to help give young men and women a hand on experience in science and technology-related fields register as Post 509 Advisors.
