1. You are responsible for whatever you bring to SPACESET. Do not bring valuable items with you unless they are necessary for the competition. Remember that we are expecting 150 participants, so be sure your name is on whatever items you bring! (Every year personal items are left behind at the end of the event, which we are unable to return to their owners because there are no names on them.)
2. One personal computer and printer is being provided in each company's "headquarters". A selection of software programs will be provided for you. Due to JPL security regulations, participants will not be allowed to bring their own computer equipment to the competition. However, you may bring your own software to install and use on the computer provided by the competition hosts, if you wish.
3. Each company will be provided with a small supply box containing circle templates, lettering guides, scissors, etc. If you have such design tools at home, feel free to bring them with you. A reference library will be maintained by the Foundation Society. Books will be available for each company to check out. We encourage you to bring any books or other reference materials that you think might be helpful.
4. Remember that dinner is not being served on Friday night. Please eat dinner before you arrive.
5. Soft drinks and snacks will be available for purchase throughout the weekend. On Saturday night we will provide the opportunity for you to order pizza. If you wish to take advantage of these opportunities, please bring some money. Because of the large number of participants who will be purchasing snacks and ordering food, we may not be able to provide change for large bills. Payment in small denomination bills and coins will help us to process everyone's orders without delay.
6. Finally, please use common sense in deciding what to bring to SPACESET. Some items that should definitely not be brought are alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, fireworks, etc. Any participant possessing any items such as these will forfeit his/her place in the competition and a parent will be called to pick him/her up. In our sixteen previous competitions, we have never had a problem of anyone bringing any of these items. We trust that you will use good judgment when packing for SPACESET so that this year's event will again be safe and enjoyable for all.
